Biography
Timothy Ryan grew up exploring the woods
and streams of Ohio. He received his B.F.A. from Berea College,
Kentucky in 1983. Tim then returned to the Miami Valley to teach
art and inspire the youth of Ohio. He recently completed his M.A.
at Marygrove College and continues to enjoy working with students
in his classroom. Tim presently lives and paints on the head
waters of the Little Miami River with his family and pets.
Timothy's love for the woods and
streams of the Ohio Valley has been a constant source of subject
matter in his work. While he paints representational and abstract
images, the rhythms and colors of the landscape are always
present. The rich colors and contrast in his painting echo the
flora and fauna of Southern Ohio. Tim is an avid hiker, kayaker
and cyclist.
When not in the classroom or studio
he can be found on the paths and streams less traveled in the ever
changing Ohio Valley.
